Winning the time back
Only your best finish on each puzzle is shown, and failed runs never count. Beat a time here and that puzzle slides down the list, so when the time in the top row starts falling, you are getting quicker.
Start a replay from the cell that finally cracked it last time. If a grid still stalls you, the stall is usually a chain of two or three overlapping sections, which is what the solving tips walk through.
